I read this book last year prior to the movies theatrical release. This book made me laugh and cry as well as broke my heart and made my heart happy in certain instances. This kind of had a modern Romeo & Juliet feel to it because they aren't supposed to be together since they both have cystic fibrosis and can make each other sick. Cystic Fibrosis patients are to stay 6 feet apart at all times BUT in this book Stella and Will make an exception to close a foot between them and stay five feet apart at all times (which they use a pool stick to measure the distance). Two people with a common illness that aren't supposed to fall in love but do. It was a beautiful story. I definitely bawled reading this book. Definitely an emotional read. Definitely one of my favorite books. I watched the movie for the first time about a month ago and while I loved it fell flat for me. The movie lacked key points from the book. Which was a big disappointment. I found that odd since the book was written from the screenplay and not the screenplay/movie written from the book.
